Reach Workcamps is composed of only six full-time staff members, which has many benefits to you and your youth group. With only six full-time salaries to pay, more of your registration fee is applied to the actual workcamp you attend and the homes you repair. It also means that quality control is held to the highest standard as there is always at least one full-time staff member present at every Reach Workcamp. If you have an issue that needs to be addressed, there is no middle man to go through. Your group will be in good hands if you choose to serve at a Reach Workcamp as these six full-timers have over 200 workcamps under their belts.

Mike is entering his 26th year of workcamps! A former Jr. and Sr. High math teacher, he started directing workcamps in the summers, along with his wife Lori of 24½ years. In 1992, Mike helped co-found Reach Workcamps. They have three children: Katie (20), Bethie (17), and David (13). The Jones family attends the Evangelical Free Church in Eaton, CO. Mike enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and hanging out with his family. At Reach, Mike handles tasks such as the budget, writing our programs, planning future workcamp locations, and keeping track of his wonderful and loyal employees.

Paul graduated from the University of Illinois with a math education degree. He was a three year Summer Staff member while in college and has worked full-time at Reach for over 10 years now. Paul just completed his 57th Reach Workcamp this summer and looks forward to adding to that number in the upcoming years. Around the office, Paul is in charge or anything concerning technology such as computers, the website, video production, and whatever else people dream up. In 2008, Paul got married to his wife, Melissa, who is a physical therapist and on October 10th, 2009, they welcomed their first daughter, Hannah Grace. Please keep them in your prayers as they adjust to life as parents.
Heather is entering her fifth year of working for Reach full time. She grew up in Illinois, graduating from Trinity Christian College in 2004. After college, Heather taught for a year in Bloomington, IL. After 4 summers of working on summer staff, Heather moved to Colorado to work for Reach full time. While Heather misses Chicago and her friends, she is enjoying the Rocky Mountains, live music, fishing, Zoe’s, having her sister & Mom out here, Taylor, her Chocolate Lab, working on the house, having a foreign exchange student from Korea, and the many amazing people that she has met in Colorado! Truly, He is faithful!

Annie grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Concordia Wisconsin in Elementary Education with minors in English and Theology. While her degree led her to teach 5th grade in Denver, the Lord intervened in a very clear way and brought her to Reach. A workcamper in high school and a summer staffer in college, she is now on her third year full time. Work, her family, and a pure love of travel keep her moving, but when she does have free time she’s writing, running, reading, dancing, relearning the violin, or in the Rockies. Her testimony is not the story of one defining moment, but rather an endless series of chapters still being penned by the Author and Perfecter of our faith. She’s enjoying the ride.

Neil is entering his 11th summer with Reach Workcamps. Neil grew up in Raleigh, NC, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is still completing his degree in Physics. He spent a year serving as an AmeriCorps member working full-time with Habitat for Humanity in Harrisburg, PA. Neil enjoys playing the guitar, hiking and camping and hopes to take advantage of all that Colorado and the Rocky Mountains have to offer. He is incredibly blessed to have found his better half in Bianca and they are excited about starting a new chapter in their lives after their wedding on December 29. Neil is excited to work with Reach and share Christ’s love through service and fellowship.
Joel grew up in the small town of Pitman, NJ, with his parents and three sisters. He attended Toccoa Falls College in northeast Georgia where he served in the Student Government Association and participated in intramural sports and resident activity planning. He graduated with a B.S. in Pastoral Ministries. In the off season, Joel enjoys playing music, the outdoors, and any kind of sport. He has been involved with Reach Workcamps since 1999 as camper, volunteer, and summer staff, and is excited to fulfill his role as part of the full-time staff!
