We have the privilege of receiving many prayer requests throughout the year. Many of us full-timers have built some great relationships over the years with both campers and youth leaders. We would be honored to pray for you if you would like to send us any prayer requests.
They are family of Ronda Somers, one of our long-time youth leaders. Please pray for them after the loss of their infant son.
Please pray for Steve & Kathleen Redding’s family from Gettysburg, PA. They are going through a very difficult time with the sudden passing of their son.
On Tuesday, September 22nd, we received the following email from Henry Martin, a long time youth leader and the local contact person for 2009 Annville, PA. I wanted to drop you all an email asking for special prayer for Cindy Erb. She is in the Good Samaritian Hospital and is going to have some tests done but I can tell you they have found a mass near the colon and a spot on the liver so please pray for her. Thanks in advance for prayers and if possible, say one for Kortnee and I too because it is very hard right now for me and I don't think I am fairing too well but I know with the Fathers help I will be strong for Cindy if needed.
- Update: She asked to let you all know that we found out today she has colon cancer and it has metastasized to the liver. - Update: I am home recovering and getting stronger each day…in the next several weeks Henry and I will be going to the Fox Chase Cancer Institute in Philly for a consult and treatment plan.
- Update (8/30): Doctors have given Cindy 1-2 months as her body is not responding to the chemo. Please continue to pray for her family, for Kortnee (daughter) and for Henry (husband) and for Henry's family as we put our hope in the God who can still come through at the last minute.
Less than a week old and is undergoing open heart surgery on August 11th. Hannah is the daughter of a previous workcamper, Gooch Book, and is the grand daughter of a Reach Board Member, Dee Cook.
- Update: On August 12th, Hannah returned home to be with the Lord. The surgery went better than expected but an infection from the surgery was too much for her little body to handle. Please continue to pray for Dee, Gooch, and his wife Erin during this very difficult time.
Many people in the Reach Workcamps family knew Storm from leading worship at camp. Storm was special to so many and the news of his sudden death in 2008 after a rare bow accident left us all in shock. His mom recently sent me a note about Storm being featured in Wings of Hope magazine and I thought many of you would like to see it. Let's continue to pray for Storm's mom, Lynn, and his brother, Seth.
