_____ Hospitality Volunteer
As
a hospitality volunteer, you will be helping out the Reach Summer Staff Hospitality
Manager. The main part of your volunteering will
occur in the Reach Outlet Store. You will help manage and maintain the
outlet store with the Hospitality Manager (selling T-Shirts, sweatshirts,
beverages, and snack food). You will also be responsible to help prepare
soda orders for the workcampers. Preparing food and handouts for the adult
meetings will also be part of the fun! Along with hospitality duties,
there may be other areas in need of your help during the workcamp week. These
duties may include…helping to serve in the breakfast or dinner lines, and
other duties as assigned!!! During the day, you will either
stay in the school to help or get out to the worksites to see what the
kids are doing!
_____ Office Volunteer
As an
office volunteer, you will be helping out the Reach Summer Staff Office Manager. The office
duties consist of answering the Reach workcamp phone, washing and folding
staff and volunteer shirts, help manage daily office operations, provide
positive customer service to workcampers and adult leaders. Along with
office duties, there may be other areas in need of your help during the
workcamp week. These duties may include…preparing the soda orders for
the workcampers, helping to serve in the breakfast or dinner lines, and
other duties as assigned!!! During the day, you will either stay in
the office or get out to the worksites to see what the kids are doing!
_____ Program Volunteer
As a
program volunteer, you will be helping out the Reach Summer Staff Program Manager. The program
volunteer will help the Program Manager arrange materials for the morning
and evening programs, help the program manager
keep the gym of the school tidy, run the spotlight, have costumes prepared,
and turn fans and lights on/off. Along wih program duties, there may be other areas in need of your
help during the workcamp week. These duties may include…preparing the
soda orders for the workcampers, helping to serve in the breakfast or dinner
lines, and other duties as assigned!!! During the day, you will either
stay in the school to help or get out to the worksites to see what the
kids are doing!
_____ Tool Room Volunteer
As
a tool room volunteer, you will help out the Reach Summer Staff Materials
and Tools Managers. The
tool room duties include delivering materials to worksites, sorting nails
and tools, organizing tool needs, lumberyard runs, and other duties as
assigned. It
is VERY helpful if this person brings a pick-up truck or their own vehicle
to use.
_____ Troubleshooter
As a
Troubleshooter, you will be responsible for visiting 5-6 houses each day. These
will be “your” 5-6 workcrews that you will be assisting with
the construction projects. You
must have a strong knowledge of construction and have positive, encouraging
interpersonal
skills. When
the crew has problems or questions about their worksite projects they
will be looking
to you! You must bring your own vehicle…vans and trucks work best as
you will be hauling materials, tools, and ladders to and from worksites. You
will also be assisting with nightly lumberyard runs to gather the materials
for the next day.
